#NordstromJax: Beauty Bash

Hello Fashionistas! The weekend is almost over (unless you don't have to work tomorrow, Columbus Day) (Or, celebrating Thanksgiving Day in Canada) and what a weekend it's been! Hope you all have enjoyed it, I certainly have and now I'm exhausted. From the Media Preview Day, Gala and Beauty Bash, I'm in serious need of a mini vacay. However, I was able to squeeze in a movie date night and went to see family at FAMU. I even caught the game, FAMU vs. SSU. I have first hand experience on why The Marching 100 are considered the "Best Marching Band in the Nation". On to the Beauty Bash, which occurred on Friday, October 10th from 8AM -10AM. I had a wonderful time at the Beauty Bash event on Friday. There were a lot of cosmetic counters to choose from but I went to my favorite, MAC. I had my eyes done by the lovely Nina @nina4urmakeup who actually works at the Avenues Mall but she was helping out at Nordstrom for the day. There were sips and snacks, fragrance samples, prizes and goodie bags. The count down for the grand opening started a little earlier than expected due to the crowds eagerness to get in and shop. The store was filled with excited shoppers going from 1st to 2nd floor trying on items and consulting with the lovely personal stylists available. Interviews were conducted by various media channels and customers responded with enthusiasm and elation that Nordstrom was finally here in Jacksonville, FL.

#NordstromJax: Gala Night

 Hello Fashionistas! As you may already know, yesterday was the Nordstrom Jacksonville Gala. Yes! I'm just now recovering from all the excitement from the previous night. I must warn you, this post is picture intensive so proceed with caution. Enjoy!

This hashtag wall was a huge success. Thanks again to Just Me aghan - a fellow blogger who pointed it out to me. Basically, all night if you shared any of your pics on Instagram and hashtagged #NordstromJax, your pic would be featured. How cool is that!?!

A grand total of $105,000 was raised for local charities (view here).

Flowers were given as you exited the Gala. Nordstrom definitely knows how to treat their patrons. Come out tomorrow, October 10th for the grand opening @ 10AM for your round of applause from the sales team. Get there earlier, for the Beauty Bash @ 8AM for sips and snacks. First 2,000 customers receive a special gift.

#NordstromJax Grand Opening

Hello Fashionistas!
TGIF right? I don't know about you, but I've been looking forward to the weekend since Monday. So many exciting things happening, I can't wait to share with you all. In exactly 2 weeks, Nordstrom will be opening in Jacksonville, FL. Can everyone in the city say DUUUUUVAL!!! Its been a long time coming and we sure do appreciate this high-end fashion powerhouse coming to the First Coast. If you remember, I posted a while back about Nordstrom opening at the St. Johns Town Center (here) & (here) and since then, I've received several emails inquiring whether this was really going to happen. Well, it is. All the fashionistas in a 100 mile radius, get ready.

Leading up to the grand opening, there will be several events to get your mojos going for the BIG day. 

First up: Pre-Opening event, It's A Lingerie Love Affair, Saturday, September 27th, 9AM - 5PM. You can register here. For every bra you purchase from a participating brand, $2 will go to The Donna Foundation. There will be sips, sweets and make-up.

Second: Grand Opening Gala, Wednesday, October 8th, 7PM - 10PM to benefit the Cathedral Arts Project, Junior League of Jacksonville and Wolfson's Children's Hospital. There will be cocktails, dinner and desserts by Catering by Liz. Entertainment by The River Town Band and DJ Skip Kelly; A Fall fashion presentation and attendees will be the first to shop in the 124,000 sq. ft store. Tickets are only $75.

Last, but certainly not least: Beauty Bash, Friday, October 10th from 8AM - 10AM before the grand opening at 10AM. Nordstrom will be hosting a beauty bash in the south parking lot outside the new store. Each of the brands inside the store will have a beauty stylist and make-up table set-up to help customers try out the latest tricks and trends. Customers can also pick up samples from their favorite brands.
