I woke up to sad news today that Oscar de la Renta has passed. Upsetting news for the fashion community for sure. This man was not only a designer, he was a visionary. He created clothes for women who were successful, elegant, sophisticated and confident. He catered to those women and in turn became one of the best designers of the 20th and 21st century. His staple was feminine, elegant and chic. No wonder why he was a constant on the red carpet and featured in numerous movies. Also, you remember the pink dress Carrie Bradshaw wore in Sex and the City, where she takes Aleksandr Petrovsky to McDonald's? That dress was to die for. And, yes! That was Oscar de la Renta.
