Superbowl Attire (LI)

Superbowl Attire (LI)

Superbowl Attire (LI) by ubetterwork featuring Alexander McQueen wrap bracelet

Hello Fashionistas!
Superbowl LI is next Sunday. If you've read my other Superbowl posts, you know I've made no secret about it, I'm not a big fan of football (or sports in general), but I'm a huge fan of fashion. Whenever I go to a game, it's all about the game for the hubster, but it's all about the fashion for me. And, I like to people watch 😄. This post was not as creative as my others due to the colors being very similar. I can just imagine the stadium on game day, it's probably going to be a sea of red, silver and white, maybe spurts of black and blue here and there. Are you looking forward to the half-time show? Lady Gaga I'm sure will put on a spectacular performance - very theatrical and  fashionable.

Who are you rooting for? The Patriots or Falcons? Or, how about, which colors would you rather... be caught wearing that is?

Check out my post from previous years (herehere & here). The Patriots made it to the Superbowl again, woot woot!

Thank you for reading and commenting! I truly appreciate it. Have a wonderful weekend!

Summer Must-Haves 2017

Summer Must-Haves 2017

Hi Fashionistas!
It's almost the middle of the week 😀 so hang in there. I am super-proud of myself for posting my "Summer Must-Haves" so early. Some of you may be thinking, it's a little bit too early to be thinking about Summer. My answer to you is, when you live in the South, with the fluctuating weather that we experience, it could be Spring one day and summer the next as early as March. If you are a Northerner, you are always welcomed to come for a vacay!

Now, on to the must haves:
There will be Tinted Sunnies & Bright Bags. Maxi Dresses - a staple in any fashionistas closet - & Boho Bracelets.  Fedoras, which I absolutely love, see here
Neutral Wedges with a bit of fringe for flair. Anklets are making a come-back, or did they ever leave? Pastel Jeans & Crochet Tops/Bottoms.

How will you be fashionating this upcoming Summer?

Spring Must-Haves 2017

Spring Must-Haves 2017

Hello Fashionistas! It's almost Fri-yay!
Today I'm featuring the trends that I feel will be popular this upcoming Spring based on what showed on the run-ways.

There will be Florals. No surprise there.
Bustiers will be making a come-back and I will be re-styling this little number
Stripes and Culottes. Khakis and Trench Coats. Single Shoulder Cut-Outs and Wordy Tees. Wedges and High Heels. Simple but elegant Loafers. The Ruffles were a pleasant surprise, but I must admit I'm excited to post an upcoming look.

How will you be fashionating this upcoming Spring?

SCAD Inspired (Part II)

Hello Fashionistas
How is your weekend so far? It's Martin Luther King Day tomorrow, so that means the day off for a lot of folks. What will you be doing?

These are the remainder of the photos from our photo shoot last week at SCAD. My cousin was the creative director and Erica Hawes was the photographer & comedian - see my behind the scenes youtube videos - for the day.

After all the hard work, we went to eat at a "funky" cafe called The Funky Brunch Cafe. The food was delicious and the best part is, they serve coconut pancakes, yum! 👍

So cold!

She loves popcorn, especially the Smartfood brand.

SCAD Inspired (Part I)

Hello Fashionistas!
Happy (early) Hump-day! How has the New Year been treating you so far? Any resolutions broken yet? I don't mind telling you that I don't make New Year's resolutions. I know myself well enough to know that more than likely that resolution will be long forgotten by January 3rd, if not sooner. However, those of you that are following through, best of luck to you and hope you follow through.

I had the opportunity to take a tour of SCAD the other day with my cousin - a college student - visiting for a couple days. We were both impressed and inspired by all the creativity that these students have displayed all throughout the many different campuses. We decided to go back the next day to snap some pics, hence this blog post which is a two-parter.

I really enjoy being in a creative environment. In my opinion, visual art can be very stimulating to the senses; I know for me it encourages me to push myself outside of my comfort-zone, try something new, take a chance. So I took a chance at being ANTM (America's Next Top Model), & almost broke my neck. My back. And my ankle. But that is neither here nor there, the point is I TRIED. Has the arts ever inspired you in any way?

My beautiful and oh so talented cousin - Yolanda Watson - was the creative director today. She was absolutely amazing coaching, directing and assisting me so I could get it together. Photo shoots are not really easy for me, I'm my worse critic and I can never really stay still long enough for that perfect shot (according to Erica 😀); so a big thank you to you cuz for helping me out today.

New Year in Theory

Happy New Year Fashionistas!
A new year, new opportunities. Has I look back on 2016, I'm very grateful for the year I had, the highs and even the lows. I am thankful for my family and friends and all the experiences I've had. One of the more memorable moments I had was with the hubster not too long ago - mid November to be exact - we took a road trip starting from Georgia and ended in California. Yes! just he and I in a car for over 3000 miles for several days. We made a lot of stops on the way, mostly because of me, but most importantly, we laughed a lot and created once in a lifetime memories. He and I share an adventurous spirit and I'm so grateful we were able to go on that adventure together.

How long do you keep your Christmas tree up for? Even though all the presents are gone from under the tree, I still love to look at it as I go about my business during the day. Once, I left this same Christmas tree up for an entire year, true story. I kept saying I didn't have time to put everything away, but at the end of the day it made me happy when I got home and there it was in all its festive glory.
