Fab'rik Savannah: Celebrating Four Years!!!

Bree Thomas, Owner of Fab'rik Savannah

Hello Fashionistas! Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. The weekend went by way too fast for me to really remember if I had any fun or not. Last night I had the pleasure of attending the four year anniversary of Fab'rik Savannah. I've featured Fab'rik on my blog before (here) when I hosted a Girl's Night Out event. The owner, Bree Thomas was considerate enough to shoot me an email to let me know of the big day. There were sales, drinks and cake. Yum! A little bit for everyone right? I decided to record some of the night to share on my YouTube channel (which has been neglected for far too long).  Please check it out and subscribe to my channel ubetterworkblog

I have so many pieces from Fab'rik, however tonight when I was looking for something to wear from this chic store, everything was in the laundry. So, I grabbed a pair of my most comfy jeans, an airy top and comfortable boots and out the door I went, no make-up and a bad hair day. But, I wasn't going to let all that stop me from sharing with you, yet again, what this fabulous store has to offer.

Hope you enjoyed, the video. Thanks for stopping by and commenting!

P.S. The video was recorded with an iPhone 6. The hubster made me mention that, lol.

Nostalgic with eShakti

Hello Fashionistas! Hope everyone had a fashionating weekend. I had a very quiet, yet adventurous weekend (if that makes sense). My hubster took me to see a very interesting lake which I will share with you guys on IG. While at this lake, the hubster said: "Look, it's nature's runway!" He was right (don't tell him I said so) and I titled the pic just that. Then, I remembered I had to take some pics of a gorgeous dress I received from eShakti.com in exchange for doing a honest review of what I thought of their product. When I was contacted by Jane - from eShakti - I was grateful for the opportunity yet skeptical. Dresses or not usually my thing. They never fit right. I'm more of a jeans/pants girl. However, when I went on the website to roam around and see what they had, I was very excited by the "Jamaica" dress. Now, I'm not sure if you guys know or not, but I was born on the beautiful, tropical island of Jamaica; although I've been in the States for the majority of my life. But, if you've been to Jamaica, the memory will live with you forever. Just the thought of ackee & salt fish, roast breadfruit, fried dumpling with callaloo makes me nostalgic for my birth home. I digress. I've seen a few posts from other bloggers who've done a review for eShakti and already knew about the customization service they provided and that their sizes range from 0 - 36W. When you visit the website it clearly lets you know "Real fashion for Real People" which I can appreciate that.

On to the dress. Other than loving the name, once I received it (which was pronto after receiving an email letting me know it was on its way via DHL, tracking number and all) I immediately wanted to see if it fit. And, it did. If fit me exactly how I wanted it to. Cinched at the waist. If you've been reading my blog or my other social media outlets, you know I love a cinched waist. The partial side zipper makes it easy to slip over the head, it has pockets and  it fits below the knee. The best part is, it's machine washable, made of cotton with a light crisp feel. This dress is listed for $59.95, which is a steal when you can add your own customization. You can change the sleeve, change the length or even remove the pockets. I'm very pleased with this dress and it will be a piece I will treasure forever not just because of the name but I felt really amazing wearing this dress. Hope you guys like the pics we took.

Superbowl Attire (II)

Superbowl Attire (II)

Hi Guys and Dolls! It's almost Superbowl Sunday, yeah! :-) Last year when I blogged about what to wear for Superbowl Sunday - (View Here) - I got a couple of emails requesting that I do a fashion blog on what to wear several days in advance. Which makes sense, I mean I did blog the day of which doesn't leave anyone enough time to purchase anything I suggested you wear. So, with that in mind, I put together the different options above with four days to spare. Please feel free to like/dislike, add your own suggestions and if you already know what you will be wearing, do share with all of us. Are you looking forward to the Bruno Mars performance?

Happy "humpday"! Friday is near.

Don't forget to be social: Facebook | Twitter | Instagram | YouTube

Oh, I almost forgot; the winner of the SAMMYdress giveaway is Ash of AeroplaneandApparel. Congrats Ash!

10 Essential Winter Must-Haves

10 Essential Winter Must-Haves

The 10 essentials for this Winter:

1. A belted trench coat in a neutral color.

2. A rebel pant. This is a mix of upper echelon plaid and leather chic.

3. A brocade patterned skirt. If it happens to be a pencil skirt, that's a bonus.

4. Over-the-knee boots. Perfect with leggings or tights.

5. A studded piece. Whether it's a bag, shoe or ear cuff, it's a must.

6. An arm cuff. Something with a bit of flair.

7. An ear cuff. Studded ones are daring and on trend.

8. Cat eye shades. Feline and chic, these shades are uber-feminine.

9. A winter red lip stain. A very dark red, almost burgundy is a stunning contrast for the dark, dreary days of Winter.

10. A fringed infinity scarf. A scarf with a little extra, as seen here.

Hope you guys like my picks. Feel free to share your thoughts.
