Hi Fashionistas!
This is the second part of my Fall/Autumn must-haves for 2017, except, these are the trends  I didn't care for. We'll just get right into it.

1. Victorian collar - I'm not completely against this trend, I just don't think it looks very youthful. But, I could change my mind depends on what I find in the shops.
2. 70s Plaid - I'll certainly not be changing my mind about this one. 
3. Nylon coats - I think my biggest problem with nylon, is that it was not meant for clothing, in my opinion. It doesn't matter how much you dress it up, i.e. fur or faux fur collar, it still looks cheap. And, I  can't stand that noise that it makes when it's in movement. Almost like plastic bags being crumbled. Probably not a very good description, but I think you get my drift.
4. Broad shoulders - This trend should stay in the 80s. This is not very flattering at all. The issue I have with broad shouldered items is this, if you don't have a really narrow waist, or an hour-glass figure, you look like a box. 
5. Formal Velvet - love the color of this skirt (chocolate brown) and the length is fine. However, I can't stand velvet. Not for clothing. Feels nice, but it's a heavy fabric to wear and it's one of those fabrics that ages you. I feel the same way about corduroys so I'm not just hating on velvet.
6. Leisure suits - For the house fine, but not for getting dressed up. Yes, a lot of celebs are wearing leisure suits around town to give off the "I'm so unbothered look", well, it does look like you didn't bother to put yourself together that day.
7. Couch florals - I know what you're thinking, is this really a trend for the Fall. Yes, it is. 
8. Glitterati Boots - This is a definite "no" for me. Really cute on small children, but not if you're of a particular age.

Hello Fashionistas!

Memorial Day is fast approaching, less that two weeks away. Does anyone have any fashionating plans? 

Quick post today to feature some Memorial Day Styles that you can wear if you have an outing planned. I looked back to when I last composed a Memorial Day post and it was here in 2013. Today I created 3 looks for 3 separate occasions.  I used my Spring Must-Haves for inspiration and the looks pretty much created themselves. I wanted to feature ruffles, stripes and off course florals, but not in a traditional sense, but in a matter of fact way. These different trends may be hot this Spring, but they can still be incorporated in your closet as staple pieces for future wear. We all know fashion tends to repeat itself, so why not be prepared.

Hello Fashionistas!

Superbowl LI is next Sunday. If you've read my other Superbowl posts, you know I've made no secret about it, I'm not a big fan of football (or sports in general), but I'm a huge fan of fashion. Whenever I go to a game, it's all about the game for the hubster, but it's all about the fashion for me. And, I like to people watch 😄. This post was not as creative as my others due to the colors being very similar. I can just imagine the stadium on game day, it's probably going to be a sea of red, silver and white, maybe spurts of black and blue here and there. Are you looking forward to the half-time show? Lady Gaga I'm sure will put on a spectacular performance - very theatrical and  fashionable.

Who are you rooting for? The Patriots or Falcons? Or, how about, which colors would you rather... be caught wearing that is?

Spring Must-Haves 2017

Hello Fashionistas! It's almost Fri-yay! 

Today I'm featuring the trends that I feel will be popular this upcoming Spring based on what showed on the run-ways. 

There will be Florals. No surprise there. 

Bustiers will be making a come-back and I will be re-styling this little number. 

Stripes and Culottes. Khakis and Trench Coats. Single Shoulder Cut-Outs and Wordy Tees. Wedges and High Heels. Simple but elegant Loafers. The Ruffles were a pleasant surprise, but I must admit I'm excited to post an upcoming look.

What To Wear

Hello Fashionistas! How was your weekend? Fashionating I hope. 

For this post I wanted to address a concern that a lot of corporate, busy, on-the-go women (Yes! I'm talking to you fashion bloggers) are faced with on a regular basis. What to wear to: happy-hour, a networking event or a low key after-work event? Well, I used to have this problem but no longer. Now, I'm going to let you know what I do when I have days like these. It's quite simple and it doesn't take much planning. 

First, I have to know what type of day I'm going to have to plan accordingly. If I have a meeting with buttoned up execs and then attending happy-hour right after and there is no time to go home and change -which is almost always- then, I brainstorm on pieces that I could bring to easily change into; Which is usually in the restroom at the building you just had said meeting.

Second, I go into my closet and decide on an outfit and accessories. Finding the right accessories also means, finding the right bag to carry the extra pieces that you will need to transition your outfit from "day" to "night" (we'll use "day" to night" for this example). Jewelry pieces are also really easy to change out and carry. 

Third, I usually try to bring one additional piece of clothing to change into. The clothing you choose should be wrinkle-resistant and fold-able to place in your bag. FYI, Jeans are perfect for this. I try to keep the same heels on through-out, but if you prefer, by all means throw in a cute pair of flats. Simple, right!?!

The cut-out waist dress is my new favorite thing. They're also available in the hi-low design (hi-low is still on trend).  Pastels are haute right now; from nail polishes, make-up, clothes and accessories. There is something about these colors that makes me feel like an adolescent again - in a really girly way. The coral, River Island skirt is flirty and fun,  paired with a colorful bracelet or heels. The black & white look has been a staple in my closet for years; now that the celebrities have caught on to this trend, you see it everywhere (like the way I just gave myself credit for starting a trend? lol!). Polka dots are still on trend; and this polka dot Luichiny is so chic with the ankle strap. I thought I was up on all the latest trends until the other day when I was watching The Wendy Williams show and she had a style expert on talking about "greige". What is greige? It is a color blend of "gray" and "beige". The Chloe bag above is a fabulous example of how this neutral color can blend in with any color palette. Share with me your thoughts on the latest tends - likes? dislikes?

Hope everyone is enjoying the warm weather. Unfortunately, soon I'll be complaining about the heat, so until then I'm embracing the warmth.
